How many applicators should you buy, how should you prepare the glass and what can you expect in the rain? Here are concise answers. Detailed application and troubleshooting guides are linked alongside them.
Why do you recommend Aquapel?
More than 20 years of selling and personally applying Aquapel have shaped our choice: we value water movement, clarity after the wipers sweep, a straightforward procedure and lasting results. On that combination, Aquapel is our No. 1 rain repellent.
At what speed does water start to clear?
In our experience with original Aquapel, noticeable water clearing occurred at around 40–50 km/h. The actual threshold depends on the car, the rain and the condition of the glass and treatment. Fine drizzle may remain longer than larger droplets.
Can I do without the wipers?
Use the wipers whenever they are needed for visibility. Aquapel helps water clear, but the wipers and washers remain necessary in town, drizzle, snow and dirty road spray.
How long does the treatment last?
Judge it by how the cleaned glass performs. Preparation, mileage, wipers, contamination and care all affect its duration. If water still clears easily after cleaning, there is no need to reapply just because of the date. If the effect has weakened noticeably, Aquapel can be reapplied.
At what temperature should I apply it?
At approximately +10…+32 °C, avoiding excessive humidity. The glass must be completely dry. After being outside in the cold, allow the glass itself to warm up, not just the air in the room.
Should I wait for Aquapel to dry slightly?
Hold the applicator with the sponge facing upwards. Squeeze the side wings until the glass ampoule breaks and allow the liquid to wet the sponge. Wait about 10 seconds to let the liquid come into contact with air, then begin applying it to the prepared glass. Then wipe the glass with paper towels or a microfibre cloth until it is clean and dry. No additional waiting is needed after at least three even passes: the product interacts with the glass surface during application. There is no need to wait for it to dry or ‘soak in’, or to leave it for any additional time. The main aim is to leave no untreated areas. Do not leave the product to air-dry.
Can I apply it over an old rain repellent?
First establish what is on the glass. An unknown or patchy treatment requires preparation. Aquapel can be reapplied as needed to a clean surface; fresh product should not conceal dirt or residue from other treatments.
Do I need the branded cleaner?
The main requirement is thoroughly clean, dry glass. Separate preparation products help with stubborn contamination, but the Aquapel applicator does not replace a cleaner.
Can I treat mirrors and side windows?
Yes, exterior glass surfaces. Do not expect the same airflow or water clearing on a mirror as on the windscreen.
Can I wash treated glass?
Yes. Regular cleaning with automotive glass cleaner is part of routine care. A product containing wax or its own rain repellent may change how the surface behaves. If streaks appear after washing, first clean the glass and check the wipers.
What should I do about haze just after application?
Buff again with a clean, dry paper towel. If the mark remains, check for excess product and problems with surface preparation. Do not apply another layer over the haze.
Why are there streaks or juddering wipers?
Possible causes include contamination, blade condition, contact pressure, geometry or uneven application. Check the glass and rubber edges, then the mechanism and application quality. Strong solvents and bending wiper arms by eye are not suitable solutions here.
Is an applicator damaged if it arrived cold?
In our earlier experience, a sample kept for three days at −18 °C worked in the same way as one stored in warm conditions.

Where can I check availability, prices and purchase terms?
Open the pack you need and the shop's current information pages. Choose the number of applicators according to the amount of glass you plan to treat.
